Grant Making

Empowering Local Champions

We believe in the power of local action. Our grant making efforts are centred on the Ocean Recovery Network (ORN), a coalition of local organisations and research groups around the world that are on the frontlines of marine conservation.

Our flexible funding and non-financial support empowers these local champions to protect marine ecosystems, advocate for stronger policies, and drive community engagement.

A Super Fund for Maximum Impact

We combine the scale of collective giving with a worldwide network of critical ocean causes, providing a single point of action to promote ocean health and support a blue recovery.

This pooled funding approach combines resources from donors all around the world to create significant impact. By contributing to the ORN fund, you join a community of like-minded individuals, business and organisations dedicated to marine conservation. Every donation, big or small, will help drive substantial progress in protecting our ocean.

Together, we can make a lasting impact.

The first Ocean Recovery Network

The first cohort of ORN members included the incredible organisations listed below. Each one of them addresses one or more target of SDG14 and acts on one of our focus areas.

Co-designing the Future Ocean Recovery Network

In 2024, we engaged in extensive consultations with more than 160 grassroots organisations, research institutes, and ocean experts from around the world to collaboratively design the future of the Ocean Recovery Network.

These conversations focused on identifying the most pressing challenges facing marine ecosystems, sharing best practices, and ensuring that the Network would reflect a diverse range of perspectives, particularly those from local communities directly impacted by ocean degradation.

The result is a co-designed framework that prioritises inclusivity, flexible funding, and long-term sustainability. You can explore the outcomes of these discussions here.
